Fitztown is sponsoring Seems a Little Sketchy -I'm showing ladybugs!

I always get a smile on my face in the spring/summer when I pull back some leaves and find those garden soldiers, the Lady Bugs! They fight so many bad bugs that bother my plants-I give them a little cheer, like Go Bug Go!  Ok, so that may be strange but I truly hate the bean beetle (Looks like a ladybug but orange with black dots) that has invaded their numbers and killed many of the LBs off AND they bite!
This week at Seems a Little Sketchy, we are using images from FITZTOWN and they are very pretty-please go check their site out!  The prize will be 3 images from them!!  Colored with copics, double matted, mini buttons down the side, ladybug ribbon, and a pewter daisy charm hanging from red/black baker's twine.  These were all the goodies that I added to this simple design sketch for my embellishments on this Birthday card.

Just a Swingin' at Doodle Pantry at the end of this month!

I just love this colored porch swing so made 2 different versions!!  This is from the June release from Doodle Pantry and appropriately called "Porch Swing" and as you can see in the display, there are many different options and variations.  I just love the creations that Laurie makes for us to use!
As you can see I used the buttons in the corner AND also fruit punch Stickles on the pink potted flowers.  On the yellow card, it is hard to see in the picture but I used diamond glaze on the window to make it shiny, small pearls on the inset and rolled felt flowers and leaves used from one of my dies.  The insides of each one are similar, just with different background colors.

Normally, at this time, we at Doodle Pantry would be getting ready for the next months' launch!  However, we are shooting for July 3rd to showcase the next group of images from our fearless leader!  I can't wait to begin creating and also at that time, we will be starting our new monthly challenge for all of you!  You have plenty of time to get yours ready!!

One Layer cards at Squigglefly this week--Holy Cow!

The Challenge at Squigglefly this week was to create a 1 layer card....For me this was SO HARD!!  I simply love to create cards that build and build on top of each other.  I was never so glad to have png images so that I could "layer" them all onto 1 level.  The Image I'm using this week is Travel at Your Own Pace by Cheryl Alger-she's one of the talented artists at Squigglefly.
I placed the digi onto a blue background, added a sentiment from my stash both to the outside and inside of the card.  The only fear that I had doing this card was that I would mess up the coloring of the digital image and have to start over again!  Oh the pressure lol!
We have three new artist making their debut this coming month at Squigglefly.  They are Tam Hess, Norma Burnell, and Angela Charles.  Each of them have their own unique style.  We are also welcoming a new design team member Jen Leeflang.  Jen's blog is http://jencraftsa.blogspot.com.  Be sure and watch her posts for some great ideas!

It's the Classic Love Bug from Doodle Pantry's June Releases!

I love the fact that Doodle Pantry gives you such unique paper to use with your images--Such as the adorable Pink VW Bug paper I used here.  This set was a June Release called Classic Bug AND it comes in blue, green and yellow!
I fancy cut the image and then used pop dots just on the front so that it would appear to be driving towards you.  At the bottom, I used some wide white paper lace, used the pink solid color (incl) as a mat to one of the sentiments in the set.  Dew Drops in Pink are the front page accent.
Inside, as these are png files, I layered the two papers together and then added another saying.  this would be great for a teen driver or a dear girlfriend!  The possibilities are endless.  Be sure to watch for our new July Launch on July 1st--we've seen some sneak peaks and all are adorable!  See you there!

Tuesday Morning Sketches sponsored by Doodle Pantry-Time to go fishing!

I just seem to be using these new June Releases from Doodle Pantry for so many of my Birthday cards-maybe it's because my husband collects and sells antique fishing lures.  I KNOW I can always use these for him and his friends!  This time I used my oval die to create a window looking out on the neat fishing scene for my entry on Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I tired to copy the sketch to show you here, but wasn't able to.  Along the edge of the oval instead of flowers, I placed some vintage fish and Lure stickers.  You were supposed to use a die for a curvy edge along the opening or use a curvy embellishment so I used another sticker in the set-fishing line w/lure.  The brown paper used on the front comes with the set and reminds me of the rails in the picture.  On the inside of the card, I used the paper included that remind me of the creel basket.  The sentiment comes with the DP set.  There are great sketches at Tuesday Morning so come along with us and join in the fun!

I can't stop creating with these images from Doodle Pantry!  Next I used the Scallop Circle Swinging Z-Fold card blank in "Orange Fizz" from The Paper Cut to create my 2nd card. I put some Flower Soft in "Sand" at the bottom of the front, used the sentiments and paper included with the set.  See what I mean about the versatility of this group?

Use Summer Coloring-Orange or Blue on Squigglefly this week!

This week the Squigglefly challenge is to create card using Orange or Blue (or both) as your primary color.   It can blue for the summer skies or the water to play in or orange for the sunshine.  Show at least one of these colors on your card or even both.  Your card does not have to be summer in theme, but either blue or orange should be the primary color of your card  We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.
I'm using one of Sandra Caldwell's images from her Americana series called Liberty Gal and it's sure appropriate for this time of year!  The card blank I'm using is the Double Hinge Fold from The Paper Cut in Wild Cherry.  It's a great way to start the card off and so easy to use as your
base!
Come on over and play-you'll have lots of fun!

It's anything goes at Seems a Little Sketchy this week

At Seems a Little Sketchy this week, our challenge is USE ANY IMAGE-any theme as long as you follow our sketch!  How easy is that!!!  I used the new image from Squigglefly Artist, Sandra Caldwell .  What with the Fourth of July coming soon, I used Liberty Gal centered with 2 squares of Holographic paper by Hot off the Press.  I love the way the stars are picking up the colors from the light!  The 2 sided paper has a great deep red checked on the back which I used for the corner features.  There are 3 silver adhesive stars instead of the banner.  I think this will make a great card for the Holiday wishes sent to a friend.  Be sure and join in our challenge this week-we are sponsored by The Robin's Nest and they are giving the winner a $10 Gift Voucher!  How Wonderful!

For the Fisherman in your Life from Doodle Pantry! Join in their Monthly Challenge~

One of the June releases from Doodle Pantry is a great set for the Fisherman in your family.  And what a better time to use it than Father's Day or a Happy Birthday card for the Man of the House.  This card uses the neat patterned paper with images that remind you of fish in pretty blues and then I used the Terra cotta colored pattern paper that reminded me of the Creel Basket.  This basket is one of the images in this set as well as a fisherman leaning against the pier fishing.  The sand colored mat is also in the set and because they're pngs, I was able to layer them before printing- Leslie at Doodle Pantry sure makes it easy for you!  I've got these great branch punchies from a friend in several different colors so used them like weeds around the image and the NEAT button inside.  This set comes with several sentiments, one of which I used here.  Be sure to check out the first of every month for new releases AND join in with an entry to our monthly challenge and win some digis.  It's a win-win!!

Classic Cars for Birthdays at Doodle Pantry!

One of the new June releases from Doodle Pantry is called Classic Cars3 and I'm LOVIN' all these manly releases!  Great for Father's Day or Birthday cards for those "tough to buy for MEN" in our lives!  This one even caught the eye of my Hubby!
Using the Triple Circle Swinging Z-Fold Card Blank in Pewter from The Paper Cut, I accented the unique shape of the die cut blank with Doodle Pantry paper.  These yellow, gray and white patterns work great with the card.  The sentiments that I used are also part of the Classic set.  You will also be seeing soon the Blue car and papers that are part of the set too!  I used patterned metal buttons on the from, elevated the matted sentiment on the front with pop dots, and cut 1" circles for the button mats.  I love the way the car just comes off the striped paper!  Be sure to check out the great bargains at the Doodle Pantry shop-they have SO many releases each month and a digital challenge always going on-your chance to win some great images!

It's Christmas Time at Squigglefly-Get your Card Supply started!!

Well it won't be too long before we will all be getting our Christmas cards ready to send out, the icy wind will be blowing and we'll be getting ready for my favorite Holiday of the year!  While in this heat, I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around that, Squigglefly is encouraging us to join in the latest challenge--Make a Christmas card!
I chose Ornament 4 by Lynne Stansbery , one of Squigglefly's talented artists.  She has a whole series of different style ornaments and they are rich in their shading and a joy to use!  I've used crystal stickles on the accents and a Memory Box die called Frostyville as the snow accent on the side.  Pull out all your wonderful papers and embellies out and play along with us at this week's challenge and if you're a winner, you will get your choice of a free digital image from the shop!

It's a Father's Day Challenge at Squigglefly! Preview of new artist's this week!

Our latest Challenge at Squigglefly is a timely one--for Father's Day!  This new artist that is joining us in the Squigglefly shop this weekend is James Horvath.  I thoroughly enjoyed using his image called Family!  Squigglefly will be debuting several other new artists so check them all out!
Since it's so hot and summery around here (and yes, I said I'd never complain about the heat after the terribly COLD winter this last year!), I decided to use sunflower paper, a sentiment from my stash raised on pop dots, and my favorite embellies~BUTTONS!  Inside, I put the reverse side of the sunflower paper and another verse that I've been saving for a "Daddy" card!  I hope you will be running to enter your Father's Day card in our weekly challenge-the winner gets a free SF image of your choice!

Seems a Little Sketchy is sponsored by Scribbles Design-I'm all about LOVE!

This week at Seems a Little Sketchy, we have a great sponsor--Scribbles Designs.  The image that I'm using is called Heart Doodle 5.  Love the Whimsy of the design!
As a background on this Anniversary card, I used this deep red rose paper from The Paper Studio. Instead of the ovals, I chose the rounded rectangle and then a sheer printed vellum with red hearts on it.  I realized after I took my pictures that there was an edge up on the sentiment paper-so sorry I didn't catch that!  The inside liner of the card picks up the subtle blue edging on the front hearts- and it is covered with blue heart accents and lots of love phrases.  I also placed one of my favorite sentiments on the inside with room for personal greetings.  Come join us at Seems a Little Sketchy for this 2 week challenge-lots of time to come up with your rendition using the sketch.  The great thing is that on the blog site at the top of the page are future challenges with the sketch pattern so that you can work ahead!  Great idea right?  See you there!

June Release time at Doodle Pantry-Liberty Bell For Me- Let Freedom Ring!!!

As Doodle Pantry launches it's New Releases today, I chose to highlight the Liberty Bell set.  The rich papers and the detailed Bell make this a perfect group for those Patriotic cards for a Veteran or as an alternate to the Red, White, and Blue cards for Memorial Day or The Fourth of July.

Because these downloads come in both jpg and png images, it gives you the option to create your card manually or layered digitally. While you get several sentiments with this set, "It Rang as if it meant something" really pulled at my heart and I just HAD to honor it in the front. Then I added some die punched flourishes and a vintage faceted gem at the corner for dimensional accent. I like the look of the color block on the inside and another sentiment.

I'm going to enter this card here:
